Summary of Experience:

He started his career as a Locum teacher to primary school children teaching Mathematics, Geography and Physical Education. He then branched out into Financial Services in 1996 where his natural analytical abilities held him in good stead with the Actuarial Fraternity and he developed into a junior Risk Consultant, pricing Employee Benefits Business. He learnt the fundamentals of Actuarial Pricing and took a new opportunity in 2001 as the 2nd Employee for Group Risk as an analyst, within the year he developed and priced innovative products to a highly commoditised market, he assisted in developing the company's Group Risk into a market leader in terms of innovation, growth, and was responsible for the extraordinary profitability where he got promoted to Risk Manager and became a member of the Risk Managerā€™s Forum, a group of Senior Actuaries within the Financial Services Industry. He has been responsible for innovative product development within group risk benefits as well as pricing the most profitable and fastest growing Group Risk book in the country. In 2007 he joined a company where he was responsible for the Infinit Group Risk business pricing and profitability, growing the business to R500 Million in under 4 years, profitably. In 2012 he joined a start-up consulting business and headed the EB Risk division as a specialist, developing strategy and innovative products for diverse groups whilst implementing significant savings across clientsā€™ portfolios. In 2013 he joined the Mineworkerā€™s Provident Fund on contract to develop the ERM and compliance framework and strategy. Ensuring Risk management process and protocols are managed and understood at all levels from staff to the board and trustees. He had also managed the benefits administration team during his tenure. In 2015 he started working as Head of Pricing and Analytics, leading a team of Actuaries and Actuarial Students within the company inĀ  Sales Finance where his experience included designing and implementing sales and marketing strategies, developing product positioning, pricing strategies, budgets and forecasting. From 2017 he has been consulting to various companies in a Risk Specialist role.

He was appointed as a Non-Executive Director at three companies, in Audit & Risk Committees and Tourism.
