Summary:
Legal professional and lecturer with experience across various fields of the law. During her 6 years as a practicing attorney and during the past 4 years as a lecturer she has enjoyed a high level of autonomy and responsibility while obtaining experience in various aspects including commercial, civil, mercantile, property and contract law.
In 2017 she became a lecturer, facilitator, examiner and drafter of exam papers for a Law School. She was contracted to develop and author two textbooks and lecturer guides under a Publishing house which is to be used by the Department of Higher Education in Governance and Criminal Justice. These textbooks are in the process of being printed and to be rolled out to various institutions as prescribed material. She is highly motivated and driven to achieve organizational outcomes and eager to accept new challenges in order to broaden her experience and exposure.
Although this candidate is not an admitted conveyancer, she has a certificate in conveyancing and at least 5 years practical experience with the transfer and registration of properties. She was tasked with heading her firm's conveyancing matters, and seeing that she is not admitted as a conveyancer, she made use of an correspondent attorney. She would be more than willing to register for the conveyancing exam to become an admitted conveyancer.
With regards to property law, she has in depth experience on these levels:
-Lecturing Law of Property for the undergraduate LLB and BCom Law students (2014 - 2018)
-Lecturing Sectional Title Law and being the National Module leader for final year LLB students (2016 - 2017)
-Lecturing Capita Selecta (Law of Land and Lease & Enrichment) for final year LLB students (2008)
-Lecturing Conveyancing and administration of estates for post graduate students as well as drafting and marking exam papers
-In practice, she is exposed to assist clients in the negotiation and drafting of contracts. Litigating matters such as Eviction Applications. Advising clients on rental dispute matters, lease agreements and long term lease agreements.
-Currently she is involved in acting on behalf of an NGO with the termination and negotiations of a long term lease agreement
