Summary of Experience
He started his career off in 2010 as a Graduate Engineer in an ICT firm in Johannesburg. After a year of rotation across different departments within the company, he took up a permanent role as a New Business Developer within the same firm. In this role, he was responsible for the research, creation and development of strategic directives centred around new product concepts and technologies that the company could adopt within their product mix. He was then approached by an industry incumbent with an opportunity to take up a Product Development role in which he was responsible for the development of new products, offerings and services via the management of multiple teams and capabilities across cross-functional disciplines, from conception through to product launch, management and product retirement or renewal. He saw this as a natural progressive opportunity as his career path moved him away from conceptual design into actual product development. After 3 and a half years, he was given the opportunity to move into the Product Management space in which his responsibility included the management of a team of Product Managers who are tasked with maintaining, growing and increasing a mix of products, in line with product lifecycle management principles. His tenacity and drive coupled with his quick thinking and superior communication skills enables him to be effective in ensuring his outputs are of the highest calibre. Within his existing role, he is also responsible for overseeing the development of new products as well as product pricing (margins and profitability), process definitions, marketing initiatives and communication, regulatory compliance and EXCO reporting.
