Summary of Experience:

Her career started out in 1997 at a local lifestyle magazine with a print run of 500 000 where she was assistant editor. She managed and planned production schedules, themes and creative processes. Her career step-changed when she joined a group of 20 engineering companies as group PR and marketing manager. Not only did she have to establish a new function in the group but also run the service as a profit center, serving these group companies with a bouquet of marketing and corporate communication service. She gained invaluable experience in how to assist and advise owners and CEO’s to use marketing and communication as a strategic tool rather than a ‘nice-to- have’. She had her own PR and creative agency for a number of years, focusing on small and medium sized business offering services that included writing, design and production of brand collateral, events management and strategy design. In 2006 she was appointed as brand and corporate communication for a local community radio station with the mandate to rebrand the station to serve the business strategy. The three year plan significantly increased the station’s RAM’s and she had the opportunity to deliver to international papers; One on her communication methodology and one on how to run and in-house magazine for a non for profit. Other recent highlights include managing the corporate communication and brand function for a consulting firm specialising in sustainable business transformation, launching and programme managing an executive leadership academy, chief of operation for the Annual African Sustainability Summit since 2014, driving the strategy of the Summit, designing and curating the programme, briefing and liaising with speakers, sponsors, suppliers, media and guests, serving on the advisory board and grooming entrepreneurs for pitching competitions as well as building a network of change leaders in industry with the Summit team.
