36 year old African professional female working in the facilities management industry, with over 10 years track record as a project manager, facilities manager, and site engineer. She enjoys keeping up with innovations and trends in the construction, property management and development sectors.

She graduated in 2005 with a B.Sc. (Hons) Construction Management from Wits University, and studied towards an Advanced Programme in Sourcing and Supply Chain Management through Unisa. Upon the completion of her last module of research, her certificate will be provided.

She has also just registered for the first year of her M.Sc. (Building) Property Development and Management at Wits University and will be commencing classes this year on a part time basis for 2019 and 2020.

Her current role is a Facilities Manager at Parastatal in the Real Estate Division. Currently, her responsibility is to lead the technical team and direct them in managing the organisation’s complex  which is their control centre. Between 2012 and 2016, she was the responsible Facilities Manager for the company's Gauteng and North West Regions.

In her role as a Facilities Manager, she manages the corporate property of the organisation through core and support functions, to ensure that the organisation’s assets deliver full commercial value to the organisation, and are maintained with the stipulated statutory regulations and requirements.  She is also responsible for ensuring that she executes and delivers capex projects that will enhance and maximise the life cycle of the assets.

In 2016, she was requested to initiate, direct and roll out the national minor capital projects programme for the Division. By doing so, she appointed external professional consulting panel that would assist in the accurate and speedy provision of project information and ensuring that commercial and procurement processes are followed so that all governance process required are adhered in the execution of projects.

Between 2009 and 2012, she worked as a Project Manager at a company that specialised in the design, manufacture and installation of fire protection systems on construction projects. Her role was to ensure the installation of fire protection systems on allocated projects with the set parameters of tine, cost and quality.  It was important to also maintain and build relationships with customers to ensure business continuity, while maintaining profitability and compliance of projects.

Her first role in the construction industry was that of a Site Engineer, where the key deliverable was ensuring that all allocated project activities were completed in line with project objectives and deadlines for beneficial occupation and handover to the client. Amongst other duties, she was responsible for co-ordination of site activities, subcontractor management, project planning, safety, information management, cost reporting, works inspection and quality assurance.
