Summary of Experience:
He started his career with a small Auditing firm where he completed his articles and was promoted to Audit Manager before leaving to join the Corporate world. He then worked as an Accountant where he was in charge of Management Reporting, Financial Reporting, Cost Accounting and Creditors. From there he moved to a large Telecommunications company where he was appointed Dealer and Retail Account Manager and then Financial Operations Manager. In these roles, he managed the relationship between the company and the dealers / retailers and ensured the accounts were run smoothly. There he also managed Logistics, Distribution and Procurement in various roles. In 2006, he was selected as an Expat to assist in setting up the operation in Iran. In his role as Financial Operations Senior Manager, it was his responsibility to set up the systems and controls for the Sales and Distribution department as well as running the entire Supply Chain including Procurement, Warehousing, Distribution and Debtors. He was instrumental in ensuring that the company became the most efficient and cost effective in the group. In 2009, the CEO requested that he move to his department to run special projects where he was in charge of Group Projects as well as re-engineering financial processes and Procedures for the company. In 2012, he moved back to South Africa as Senior Manager: Data Performance Manager and was also involved in some large group project mainly relating to Business Intelligence. In 2015, he left and joined another company where he was appointed Country Manager for Iran. In this role, he set up a new company and was responsible for New Business Development. With new sanctions being implemented in Iran, the company decided to pull out of the country and he returned to South Africa in 2018.
He is commercially driven and has a passion for improving system efficiencies, controls and cost effectiveness. He has a flair for Mathematics and Reporting and can easily identify where improvements can be made to make companies more profitable. He works well in a team environment and can motivate people to perform through collaboration and encouragement. He follows through with tasks till completion, enjoys new challenges, is very competitive and deadline driven.
