He started his career in the retail industry as a sales consultant, at the local KZN shopping mall. He worked as a sales consultant while at university achieving his Bachelor of Commerce undergraduate degree, which bred his hard working and resilient nature. After completing his undergraduate degree, he worked at a clothing retail store which offered more time to develop his skills. The additional time spent at this establishment exposed him to many more cultures, personalities and developed valuable skills in sales and conflict management.
In his capacity as Project Support Office and Project Accountant, he developed multiple recurring reports that enhanced forecasting, budgeting, costing and operating processes. He accurately maintained the reports, which provided significant insight into revenues, expenses and operations on multiple projects, while learning new concepts regularly under deadlines. He has developed a talent to refine complex data set, financial or otherwise, into clear and actionable reports that support executive decision making. The opportunity to work at a project management company supporting the finance team on projects, provided the gateway into realising his true passion for numbers.
